Whymaker is seeking multiple STEM instructional designers to be part of our growing team. The right candidate will be able to work independently, meet a strict timeline, be excited about creating the best content possible, and willing to collaborate with other team members (virtually) as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have:

  • Teaching experience REQUIRED (6th-8th/ 9th-12th or CTE focus is preferred)
  • Strong background in STEM
  • Created content for the general population of teachers across the US (not just yourself)
  • Ability to research, find and use the appropriate standards
  • Be action-oriented providing ongoing project updates
  • Independent thinker and problem solver
  • Neat and organized, paying attention to details
  • Be open to feedback and modifications
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create new and unique hands-on projects for K - 12 classrooms
  • Generate objectives and outlines of lessons and activities
  • Develop scope and sequence for long curriculum units. Create content that is easy to follow for teachers and engaging for students
  • Lead in developing instructional materials and student materials for lesson plans or activities:
    - Instructional materials may include writing in specific lesson plan templates, creating assessments, objectives, connecting to standards, teacher training information, front matter, additional resources, and be for virtual or in-person.
    - Student materials may include worksheets, design journals, portfolios, labs, instructions, assessments, etc.
  • Create content that is easy to follow for teachers and engaging for students
  • Implement diverse instructional strategies for diverse groups of learners
  • Compile into well polished and client-ready document based on templates provided

Professional Development Facilitator

JOB DESCRIPTION
WhyMaker is seeking multiple Professional Development Providers to be part of an exciting Computational Thinking and STEM Solutions project in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. This position will develop and deliver professional development workshops to teachers in small and large group settings, in addition to coaching teachers through best practices in implementation. The right candidate will be able to work independently, meet a strict timeline, be excited about creating the best content possible, and collaborate with other team members at WhyMaker as needed.


*Following this contract, there will be availability for fully-remote work based on performance.


SKILLS

  • Must be able to articulate session topics and ideas clearly and effectively to adult learners
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the audience

  • Ability to collaborate with instructional designers to create workshop materials. Must have subject matter expertise in robots such as Sphero Indi, Sphero Bolt, Sphero RVR, Computational Thinking, and general STEM Principles
  • Must have experience creating and delivering high-quality professional development
  • Must have some experience with instructional coaching either in small groups or individually
  • Must be familiar with technology and presentation tools
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Must have reliable transportation within Minnesota

Sales Support Specialist

WhyMaker is looking for a virtual Sales Support Specialist to join the sales team. This person will be an assistant to the sales manager (who is also the CEO) and will be responsible for taking ownership of the sales process from start to finish. They will generate new leads, book discovery calls, manage the calendar, build & maintain relationships, and update & maintain the database. This role requires a self-starter, someone who is comfortable managing their manager, with excellent customer service, someone who is personable and who excited about designing the future of education. It is important for this person to be proactive and highly organized with great attention to detail in following instructions and processes.


This is a part-time role that is completely remote.


The successful candidate will:

Short-Term Contract Educator and Instructional Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION
WhyMaker is seeking a short-term contract educator and curriculum expert to be part of a Summer Youth Employment Program taking place at Stonybrook University.


This position will require the development of curriculum resources and delivery of lessons to high school students who have an interest in career and technical education.


This position will involve both creating content for activities and teaching in person, full days during the weeks of July 22 and July 29, 2024. The subject topics will be STEM oriented, specifically teaching on electricity transmission, microgrid, batteries, high voltage energy, and offshore wind.


The right candidate will be able to work independently, meet required deadlines, be excited about alternate forms of education, and collaborate with other team members at WhyMaker as needed.


This position will report to the Education Manager.

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the students
